First Baptist Preschool of Portland is a Christian preschool and childcare ministry of First Baptist Church in Portland, Texas. For more than 50 years, we have been committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support each child’s physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual development. Through a Christ-centered approach, we encourage a love for God as revealed through Jesus Christ, foster a positive biblical view of self, inspire creativity, promote cooperation and kindness, and cultivate a lifelong curiosity about God’s world.

Our Philosophy

We believe every child is uniquely created by God with special gifts and abilities. Our goal is to provide a warm, loving, clean, and secure environment where children are encouraged to grow at their own pace spiritually, intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically.

We also believe that our preschool is an extension of your family. By partnering with parents, we strive to help each child develop confidence, character, and a love of learning while exploring the world around them in a safe, caring, and faith-filled setting.
